Classic Car Charity RallyIn October 2006 we organised a Charity Classic Car Rally to raise funds for the following - Charity for Brain Injured Children
- NSPCC
- St David's Foundation Hospice Care
The journey began in Cwmbran, South Wales, up to John O'Groats, down to Land's End and finally back to Cwmbran approximately 1760 miles later. The cars and drivers were: - 1967 MGB GT White driven by Rob Evans and Dai Gormley
- 1969 MGB GT White driven by Mark Williams and Joe Pattison
- 1972 MGB GT Orange driven by Clive Perry and Mark Herbert
- 1974 MGB GT Yellow driven by Stuart Staples
- 1980 MGB GT Black driven by Terry Smith and Gerald
- 1981 MGB GT Blue driven by Paul Williams
- 1974 MGB Roadster Red driven by Mike Perry (Mark Herbert and Rob Evans once each!)
All monies raised will go directly to the Charities above, all expenses being met by the companies involved. We hope to raise £1,000 per car. Local businesses have already shown their generosity and we continue to look for more donations. - Thursday, 5th October 2006, Left Cwmbran 5:30am for an overnight stop in Inverness. (As planned!)
- Friday, 6th October 2006, Inverness - John O'Groats - Falkirk. Overnight stop. (Slightly behind)
- Saturday, 7th October 2006, Falkirk - Somewhere near St. Dennis. Overnight stop. (Slightly ahead!)
- Sunday, 8th October 2006, Somewhere near St. Dennis - Land's End - Arrived Cwmbran 4:30pm.
All 7 cars made it back under their own "steam" which is a tribute to the mechanics that prepared the vehicles before the rally. If you haven't made a donation, it is not too late! Any sponsorship will be gratefully received on behalf of the charities. See the pictures starting with Day 1 here. |
